Falling Up The Stairs

Looking down at the people on the dance floor below,
Wishfully dreaming of meeting a fairytale prince,
My eyes meet yours.

Feeling like a school girl with a crush,
Blushing deeper than I ever have before,
I feel your smile colour my senses.

My heart twitching into a smile,
My lips
racing faster than lightening,
I stop to try my emotions and thoughts from running wild.

Building down the courage to ask you to dance,
Falling up the stairs as I make my way up to you,
I curse clumsy
for being myself.

Looking at your feet extended towards me,
Hoping my hands are good enough to move around the dance floor,
I hand
your take and suddenly my thoughts are clear again.

Smiling up at you in the cheesiest way possible,
Leaning close as I feel a magnetic pull,
I try not to fall for you as hard as I fell down the stairs.

Very clever use of word-swapping here, I totally got caught up in the emotion of the piece.

Thank you :) I found myself doing that once when a guy I then crushed on called!
